Towing in confined water
Towing inside harbours, canals and rivers is a different job from an open-water passage: the fairway is narrow, there is current, a pontoon catches wind like a sail and hydraulic structures are never far away. We plan each operation around draught, windage and the traffic schedule on the water, and our tugs work in tandem with pontoons and construction plant.
The right craft for the job
Towage is carried out with our own tugs and work boats, including the tug Simvol and a technical catamaran pontoon. What goes out is decided by the weight and dimensions of the object, the length of the passage and the conditions in the water area.
Supporting construction on the water
Towage is rarely a job on its own. More often it is part of a construction cycle: bringing in pontoons with plant, repositioning working platforms, delivering materials to site. We keep the logistics on the water running for the whole duration of the works.
