09Salvage of sunken vessels and objects
A sunken object is an obstruction to navigation, a source of pollution and, often, an order from the authorities. We locate the object, survey it underwater, assess its condition and lift it with our dive team and lifting craft.

The survey comes first
A lift starts with a dive, not with a crane. Divers establish how the object lies, how deeply it is silted in, the state of the hull and where it can be taken hold of. That decides the method and the plant — and sometimes the conclusion that it has to come up in pieces.
The lift
Slinging is done underwater by the dive team; the lift itself by floating crane or the catamaran's A-frame. The operation is run with control from the surface: communication with the diver, watch on the load, coordination with traffic on the water.
Afterwards
The lifted object is moved to the discharge point and the bed is surveyed again — to confirm nothing is left in the way. The client receives photographs from before and after the work.
