07Dredging
Dredging gives a water area its working depths back — at a berth, on an approach channel, in a marina. We excavate bed material with an excavator on a floating platform, move it and place it where the design says, working in confined water where a large dredger cannot go.

An excavator on a pontoon instead of a dredger
In marinas, alongside quay walls and in narrow channels a suction dredger is out of the question — there is no room to manoeuvre or to run a pipeline. A long-reach excavator on a work pontoon gets in where the space is tight and the volume does not justify heavy plant. The platform is held on anchors and stepped along by tug.
Where the material goes
Excavated material goes onto a barge or straight to its design point — into bank protection, into a reclamation area, or away for disposal. How the material is handled is agreed at the planning stage: it drives both the schedule and the fleet.
Confirming the result
Design bed levels are confirmed by soundings and a diver survey. The client gets not just the volume moved but a record of the actual depths after the work.
